The ESRC is committed to increasing the economic and social impact of its research and having a wider impact on policy and practice. One way to do this is to equip students with entrepreneurial skills that can easily be transferred and applied to their research and also to a wide range of businesses and organisations in any sector; public, private and third/voluntary.
This four-day residential and interactive entrepreneurial programme is designed to ensure that the participating student becomes equipped with entrepreneurial and transferable skills. The scheme supports a social and ethical context for venture creation and development of innovative ideas, and stimulates enterprising projects. Another benefit of this programme is that participants become part of a valuable international network of people who are developing their entrepreneurial skills in business, communities and organisations.
The programme is managed by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL), University of Cambridge, and includes sponsorship from a range of companies and organisations. The programme is also supported by a range of facilitators including previous participants and senior personnel with entrepreneurial experience from both the academic and business community.
All ESRC funded students are eligible to submit an application for attendance. The ESRC cover the cost of attending the programme (accommodation and meals included) but delegates will need to pay for their own travel expenses.
The ESRC Enterprisers Programme is held in January each year, the last Programme was held from the 11th-15th January 2010 at the Arden Training Centre, University of Warwick.
Further information on the programme is available via the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning website.
