ESRC Society Today

As a crucial function within ESRC, our role is to increase the awareness, importance and benefits of knowledge exchange.

We do this by offering a knowledge brokering service, acting as a conduit between researchers and research users. We have well established networks and working relationships with businesses, government departments, regional development agencies, local government and third sector organisations.

Through our extensive links, we can help research users find and develop new research programmes, partnerships and placements. We can help research centres and individual researchers engage with potential users and develop their research programmes.

As well as managing a variety of knowledge transfer schemes, we also aim to build the capacity of those engaging in knowledge exchange and can provide advice, support and training. We run a number of engagement seminars and training workshops during the year.
