Early Career Researchers
If you are in the early stages of your research career or are a new researcher what are your options? ESRC has several schemes that will enable you to undertake further research. The Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards funds new researchers for one year immediately after the submission of their doctorate. Also, whatever stage you have reached in your postdoctoral career, you can apply for funding under the Research Fellowships Scheme. This scheme gives both senior and less experienced researchers the opportunity to undertake a period of concentrated research activity. Another particularly useful scheme for new researchers making their first application to the ESRC is the Small Grants Scheme.
