Teaching and Learning Research Programme
The programme will enhance research-based practice in teaching and learning in order to produce significant improvements in outcomes (broadly conceived) for learners. Its remit covers learners of all ages across a wide range of educational and training contexts, including pre-school, primary and secondary school, FE, HE, community, adult and continuing education, and the many forms of professional, industrial and commercial learning.
The programme is funded by the HEFCE, DFES, Scottish Executive, National Assembly for Wales and Northern Ireland Executive and managed by the ESRC. It fosters partnership between practitioners and researchers in undertaking research and ensuring that it has an impact. Its core objectives are to: - enhance learning across a range of ages and stages in education, training and lifelong learning
- develop the capability for transforming the knowledge base relevant to learning into effective and efficient teaching and training practices
- enhance the UK capacity for research-based practice in teaching and learning
- promote and extend multidisciplinary and multi-sector research in teaching and learning.
