Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP)

The Centre supports high quality, innovative, strategic research aimed at developing relevant and robust empirical evidence to enable a more effective understanding of charitable giving and philanthropy issues and act as a hub for engaging and influencing national and international policy and practice audiences and other stakeholders, capacity development, and knowledge exchange.

The Centre is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the Office of the Third Sector, the Scottish Government and the Carnegie UK Trust. The Centre is co-ordinated by a Hub based at the Cass Business School, City University and works in close collaboration with expert research groups (the spokes) based at the Universities of Strathclyde, Edinburgh, Southampton and Kent.
