National Cancer Research Institute Supportive and Palliative Care for Lung Cancer

In 2006, the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) lung cancer strategic planning group identified the need to strengthen research on supportive and palliative care requirements of lung cancer patients.  Dedicated funds (£2.25m) have now been pledged by NCRI partners to support a call for proposals in research in this area. The focus of this initiative is in two broad interdisciplinary areas:

  • Symptom management with a focus on improving the patient experience
  • Studies targeted to assessing the effectiveness of difference service models for patient follow

This initiative is administered by Marie Curie Cancer Care (external website)
