TLRP: SPRinG News 2 - Social Pedagogic Research into Groupwork
This is the second issue of SPRinG News, published by the TLRP project 'Improving the Effectiveness of Pupil Groups in Classrooms'. This publication aims to inform about the progress of the research carried out in Key Stage 3 and to report on some of the project’s findings. In this issue, the results of the English classes that were re-tested towards the end of the 2002/3 school year are presented. Attitudes of pupils in English classes and their behaviour during group work, and the differences between conversations of higher and lower cognitive level during group work are also discussed in this issue. In other article, the authors explain the design developed to measure attainment, and finally, some of the results of interviews to pupils who were either very positive or very negative towards group work are presented.
