Advice on leaflets produced by NHS screening programme
Professor Atkin along with his colleague Dr Sangeeta Chattoo, was invited to comment on a leaflet, aimed at fathers, encouraging them to consider having a test for sickle cell or thalassaemia trait. They offered advice on the content and the presentation of the material. The leaflet, entitled ‘Tests for Dads’ is now widely used in policy and practice (see http://sct.screening.nhs.uk/leaflets#fileid11817). Initial insights from the project helped inform their response.
