FELIX : flexible lightweight editor for exhibit
A key requirement of teachers, students and other users of semantic web and linked data applications is the ability to edit data 'in place' through a web browser, rather than be uploading and converting files 'server-side' or submitting these to a digital repository. FELIX extends the widely used SIMILE Exhibit web application framework to allow this: addressing the need, identified by the project from the outset, of making semantic web and linked data applications as easy to use, edit and update as 'Web 2.0' social media environments.

Additional details

The latest version of FELIX has now been incorporated into the SIMILE Exhibit codebase at http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/ for open-source release. While this was originally developed to address teaching and learning user requirements, it has applications in any setting in which users wish to edit (or allow others to edit) structured and linked data.
