TEL stories : experience the future of education
On 6 November, there was a final celebration of the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) programme; a five-year research programme with eight large projects including the Dental Institute’s hapTEL project. Held at the Royal Society, one of the world’s most prestigious centres of science, the TEL stories event showcased research and prototypes that could revolutionise UK education. The exhibition was busy throughout the afternoon and evening and there were lots of visitors, including teachers and students, to the hapTEL stand. The Minister of State for Universities and Science, Rt. Hon. David Willetts spoke about the future of education and answered questions from the audience. He was very positive about the use of technology in learning and was fascinated by the hapTEL system as he discovered how it feels to drill into a virtual tooth.
