Adapt not adopt : understanding, developing and implementing lean in local government
The purpose of this guide is to help support public services in their engagement with Lean. In particular the guide will enable managers in local authorities to make more informed decisions regarding Lean implementations so that good practice can be developed and possibly lead to the transfer of knowledge between local authorities. This will be done by: Identifying the current state of play of Lean in local authorities; Highlighting what further support, time and resources from within the organisation are required to implement conditions for Lean outside the externally facilitated workshop environment. This guide is appropriate for managers in local authorities, who are responsible for managing and implementing a Lean programme within the authority.
