Celebrating 90 Years since Latvia’s independence
A Series of Events at the University of Glasgow, part of the CRCEES Winter Festival of Central and East European Cultures. The events included: Three Latvian Films at the Gilmorehill G12 Cinema, University of Glasgow. In conjunction with the Latvian Film Centre, Riga ‘The Role of Culture in Nation Branding’, a public lecture by Brigita Stroda, Director of the Latvian Tourism Bureau, 27 November 2008 Conference on ‘90 Years of Independence: Evaluating Latvia’s Past and Present’ Organised jointly by CRCEES colleagues from Glasgow and Aberdeen, this one-day conference brought together 11 speakers from Latvia, the UK and the USA and attracted over 40 participants, including the UK Ambassador to Latvia.
