Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies 17th annual conference : Putin, people and power : elections 2008
CRCEES sponsored this latest annual conference of the Centre for Russian, Soviet, and Central and Eastern European Studies at the University of St Andrews, whose theme this year reflected the impending end of Vladimir Putin’s Presidency of the Russian Federation. Sixty people attended the conference, which brought together speakers from the UK and Russia and covered the following topics: the Domestic Effect of the 2007-08 Electoral Cycle, Russian- EU Relations, Political Transformations in the Regions, Putin and his Supporters, Putin in Russian Fiction and Vladimir Putin and the Two-Tier Information Society.
