Women's participation in sport

This day explores a history of women’s participation in sport. From the role of physical education, sports coaching and governance, to media representations of female sportswomen, sportswear and modesty, as well the experiences of female football fans. The event builds on a current joint oral history project looking at Muslim women’s participation in sport. Local schools will be invited to take part in a day of workshops and debate.
This is joint event involving London Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Applied Social Sciences, The Women’s Library.
