Every language matters: A festival of languages

In panel discussions and information stalls, participants will engage with social scientists and find out how languages and linguistics research influences the lives of individuals and communities. What happens when people stop speaking their language? What are the origins of language? What is the social and cultural role of language? What is the relationship between the two languages in bilingual speakers? How do we learn languages in its different manifestations such as speech or signing?
