Why do some people become elite sports people whilst others do not?
We often look for measureable reasons; their strength, their power, their speed. Yet, in doing this we overlook the influence of personal experiences, family, schooling and coaching on the development of sporting ability. This debate will consider these aspects alongside those of physical ability and genetics in exploring the area of elite sporting development
